The Estate

Vivienda's Estate turns back the clock to a more reflective time with Spanish-colonial ambience.  With unerring taste and attention to detail, the designers and builders created a tranquil and soul-provoking estate with all the comforts of home and the history of by-gone Spanish Colonial home. Timeless charm shows everywhere in the classic touches that give this estate a sense of undisputed dignity and beauty.

Situated along the equestrian horse trails that pass through Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego, California, the estate offers a unique opportunity to stay in a private residence with your friends, family or colleagues. All the amenities and conveniences of an ultra luxury destination in the warmth and appeal of a charming Spanish colonial estate.

This is one of the best examples of Spanish colonial craftsmanship with an extraordinary medley of ironwork, columns, and carved doors and every sort of beautiful object of the tile mason’s and iron mason’s art.  The columns from Antigua, Guatemala were carved in the 19th Century.  Ironwork from all over the world forged decades, if not centuries ago, decorates the balconies and staircases.  Doors from Egypt and Mexico hung for hundreds of years before arriving on the door steps of this majestic home.  Twelve beautiful antique stained glass doors flank the courtyard.  A loving family in Mexico hand made and hand painted over 100,000 decorative tiles for Vivienda with over 25 different patterns recreated from original 1920's Spanish colonial designs. The same family hand made over 250,000 floor pavers throughout the house, intact with paw prints imprinted by stray dogs and coyotes before they could be fired in the kiln.
